Eric Funk's Resume

Web Portfolio

This Site:

Funk, E. Design Logo

The first example of my web design and development work is this site itself. Utilizing jQuery and Bootstrap this site is a single page with expandable sections in its mobile format. For larger screens I've opted for a different type of single page experience using AJAX to call in content from a traditional navigation bar.

I used a "single breakpoint" philosophy as I believe larger tablets have sufficient screen space to take advantage of tradition desktop configurations. Only smaller devices (under 9") need a mobile friendly design.

Mellon Capital Management:

Mellon Capital

Mellon Capital is a subsidiary of BNY Mellon. I was responsible for the transition of this website over to a new CMS (Liferay). In addition to maintaining this and their internal SharePoint sites. I developed new assets such as a microsite for their "Total Dynamic Return" product.

Alyce Life Yoga:

Alyce Life Yoga

An independent Yoga instructor on a tight budget and in a compressed timeframe, needed a website to sell products and register people for classes. The site also had to utilize a consumer friendly Content Management System (CMS) so that the client could update the site with minimal programming knowledge.

Age of Innocence:

Age of Innocence

I worked with an independent photographer on this small scale e-commerce site that needed a redesign. In addition to fixing some issues and implementing some best practices. I also added a new product line and updated it for the current year.

PhD Life Transitions:

Life Transitions Website

This website was developed to help announce and register academic professionals looking to pursue a career in the private sector. It's a simple, one page (parallax) site designed to be mobile friendly.

New Finance Hire Orientation Site for Kaiser Permanente:

eOrientationScreenShot

I was initially brought on to this project to consult with the project team about UX and design best practices. It was my recommendation that we went with a broad to narrow approach. The first page introduces the new hire to KP as a whole. the second discusses Finance. The third get's into specific departments within Finance, etc until the employee is directed to materials that will specifically help them in their specific job or working at KP.

As the project went into production I was asked to stay on board and act as the project liaison with the remote design team we engaged to produce the project as well as gather content from the various departments to be featured in the site. Essential I was responsible for both stakeholder and production management. Upon completion this site has remained consistently one of the most visited internally to KP. KP Finance eOrientation

Additional Material:

Most of my professional websites are behind a secure firewall as they were internal to the firm(s) and as a result can not be directly linked to.
